The “Texas Rangers” is a professional American baseball team situated in Dallas-Forth Worth Metroplex, Arlington, Texas. The team is part of the Western Division, which plays in the American League (AL) of the Major League Baseball (MLB Tickets). The Rangers have been playing their home games at the Globe Life Park in Arlington, Texas since the year 1994. Originally, the name of the team was derived from the famous law enforcement agency “Texas Rangers”.

Established in the year 1961, the franchise was built as an expansion team in Washington, DC. The team was first named as the Washington Senators, the idea was instigated from the originally named Washington Senators, which had been relocated to the city of Minnesota and became the Minnesota Twins.

At the time when the team had carried the name Washington Senators, they have had countless shifts in both the management and ownership. In fact, the Washington Senators were often recognized by their poor tactics in decision making and game planning.

Under Bob Short’s ownership, the team moved to play in Arlington, Texas, where they first appeared as the Texas Rangers. Prior to their relocation, the Rangers were offered a multi-million dollar partial payment by the city Mayor Tom Vangriff, whose primary intention was to move the franchise in Arlington, Texas.

In the history of baseball , the Texas Rangers Club had compiled six appearances in the Major League Baseball (MLB) post-seasons. Five out of their six appearances had followed several division championships during the years 1996, 1998, 1999, 2010 and 2011.

For the record, the Texas Ranges reached the Major League Baseball (MLB) Division Series for the first time dated back in the year 2010. At that time, the team won against the Tampa Bay Rays. From there, the team brought home their first ever American League Pennant after defeating the New York Yankees.

In the 2010 World Series, the Texas Rangers lost 5 games against the San Francisco Giants. However, the team’s only victory of the same year made them the first team from Texas to have won a World Series Game, as the Houston Astros were beaten during the 2005 World Series.

The following year was also successful when they repeated as the American League Champions. But, the Texas Rangers cut off the victory after they lost 7 games in the 2011 Major League Baseball (MLB) World Series against the St. Louis Cardinals.

The team encountered the ups and downs of their MLB career the following years. In the year 2012, the Texas Rangers collapsed from numbers of losses against the Baltimore Orioles, Oakland Athletics and Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim. Although the team attained one spot in the first ever American League Wild Card Playoff Game, the team was swept off during the last minute and lost against the Baltimore Orioles with a losing record of 5-1.

In the year 2013, the Texas Rangers encountered missed playoffs after being beaten by the Tampa Bay Rays with a losing record of 5-2. In 2014, the team took the fair games into frantic ones by drawing injuries towards its rivals. The lone player was Adrian Beltre, who was seen to be the team’s most consistent offensive player of the Texas Rangers. The team was officially eliminated on September 4, 2014 and the next day, the manager Ron Washington stepped out from his position due to cited personal issues.
